It is safe to say that my first Mother's Day was not a traditional all about Mom day! I had two sick kiddos (Ben and JB) and I was doing typical Mommy duties.
First off we had planned a nice beach vacation where we both took off work Friday to drive down to the beach. Well, Thursday around noon I get a call from the JB's daycare; sickness #1- Hands, foot, and mouth! Fabulous! Ben picked her up and they made a Father/Daughter day out of it. Then, later that afternoon Ben was complaining of his throat hurting. I sent him to Urgent Care and $75 later we have sickness #2- strep!
Wonderful!
Well, we woke up Friday morning and Janie Beth was acting fine but Ben was still feeling puny but he insisted on going! We struck out around 9:15 and by the time we got into Montgomery Janie Beth was taking her morning nap, SCORE! She slept all but 20 minutes of the ride! We got down there and spent about 2 hours on the beach and checked in and had a nice dinner.
Friday Night: Ben woke up saying his hands were on fire and low and behold he now has sickness #3- hands, foot, and mouth!!! I felt so bad for him but was so disappointed! We ended up going to eat at my favorite breakfast place, The Anglers, and then I drove the two sicklings home!
We got home around 1:15pm and Ben relaxed in the shade while JB and I played in her pool and laid out!
Sunday, Mother's Day. Ben was feeling worse than Saturday but tried to make the best of it. He made me breakfast and insisted we go to my parent's house to lay around the pool. It was a relaxing day but not my weekend I had planned! Oh well, all part of being a mommy, right!?
Sadly, I got ZERO pictures on Sunday :(

ReplyDeleteI had to take my adult daughter to an urgent care clinic. She was really nervous about her situation. She was extremely uncomfortable and was worried about the diagnosis and treatment. After she finished the paperwork, she paced nervously. She was called in very quickly and then I paced nervously. When she came out she had a big smile on her face. She had been treated well and her problem was taken care of with minimal discomfort.
